Water resources are essential to sustain our life, but as included in the SDGs, the current status of the water environment is not desirable for many people and aquatic organisms in many parts of the world.
Governance is crucial to maintain water resources, and we work to strengthen it in the region, particularly in Asia, through hosting the secretariat of the Water Environment Partnership in Asia (WEPA) and technical capacity-building projects like “Strengthening Capacity Development for Local Governments in ASEAN to Tackle Microplastics and Water Pollution through Decentralised Domestic Wastewater Management Approach (PoDIWM-2)”. For the details, please visit the websites of WEPA and PoDIWM-2.
