Regional Partnership for Adaptation Actions: Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT)

How can we enhance regional adaptation efforts?

In addition to action on the impacts of climate change to be implemented by the international community, it is important to cooperate regionally, taking into account local characteristics. Therefore, it is essential to establish a one-stop information platform to organise and provide the most comprehensive information on adaptation in the Asia-Pacific region. There also needs to be a system for regional collaboration on adaptation that can link existing adaptation-related initiatives and activities and identify opportunities for joint actions.

IGES Adaptation team works in collaboration with regional stakeholders involved in climate change adaptation in Asia and the Pacific, including national and local governments, international organisations, and domestic and international research institutions. As an operational body of the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT), we provide knowledge products and make significant contributions to developing partnerships for enhancing regional efforts on adaptation in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ) and the National Institute of Environmental Studies (NIES).
