Insights of the Report

Yunlin County has issued its first VLR report with a comprehensive review of administrative and sustainable development goals for connecting with the SDGs of the UN. The report first presents "Happy Yunlin, Sustainable Act" as Yunlin County's sustainable development vision, and then proposes the three cores of 2030 Yunlin Sustainable Development with "sustainable agriculture", "large healthy industry" and "green model of economic development". The report then sets out the structure of the VLR. There are 221 projects and 341 sub-projects included in the report following 10 cross-bureau vision meetings.

City Profile

Yunlin County is located in the south-central part of western Taiwan, covering an area of about 1291 square kilometers. The eastern half is mountainous (1/10), and the rest is plain (9/10). It is located in between the mountains and the sea. The climate is pleasant with an average temperature of 22.6 degrees Celsius. Yunlin is a large agricultural county producing a variety of high-quality agricultural products. At the same time, Yunlin is home to various religious and cultural attractions. There are festivals including the Mazu pilgrimage, and other local folk activities which form the cultural background of the county.
