Unless the circular economy is implemented on a global scale, a country or a city committed to becoming completely circular will likely face challenges when partaking in the global market. The global market should have to accept policies that will, for example, allow the import of materials, resources and products that comply with CE practices. With design for the environment (DfE) products, regions and countries will ultimately achieve a higher material self-efficiency as the recycling of materials increase within their borders.
