A6IP-IETA Private Sector Working Group Meeting of the Paris Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP)

23 January 2025, from 20:00 to 21:30 JST (12:00pm-13:30pm CEST, 6:00am-7:30 am EDT)

In terms of international cooperation in implementing climate mitigation activities to achieve the Paris Agreement's 1.5-degree target and NetZero society, the COP29 in Baku in November 2024 became an epoch-making event as it completed the negotiation on rule settings of the Paris Agreement Article 6, and now it became the time for implementation.

Meanwhile, the private sector is the one who works for each project development and implementation, so it is the key driver for the implementation of Article 6. What is the implication of COP29 for the private sector?

This seminar convened partners of the Paris Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership both governments and private sector, and focused on the post-COP29 Article 6 implementation, including the key challenges for the private sector in implementing the projects concerning the governments and capacity building.
