In order to accelerate efforts toward net zero with rapid and deep GHG emission reductions, systemic change which covers both the energy-demand side and supply-side is necessary. Such systemic change is also critically important for businesses to thrive in the rapidly changing world. The '1.5°C Roadmap for Japan' is an outcome of efforts by IGES and collaborating non-state stakeholders to explore how we can contribute further to the global efforts to achieve the 1.5°C goal and to summarise actions with a timeline which can propagate positive effects in business and society.
In this seminar, following an introduction of the IGES 1.5°C roadmap, leaders of forefront Japanese business firms and representatives of a financial institution, an investment firm and an international initiative will discuss what are the roles of the 1.5°C roadmap in the business transformation, and how Japanese businesses can contribute to the global efforts toward net zero.
