Amid growing interest in a decarbonised society, the 9th International Conference of Low Carbon Asia (ICLCA 2023) will be held at the Okayama Convention Center (Okayama, Japan) on 17-18 October.
ICLCA is an international conference that does not have a specific location, but rotates among a number of Asian countries. The forum was initiated to provide a forum for researchers in the region to present their work on climate change and raise the level of their research. This year, ICLCA will be held in Japan for the first time and hosted by Okayama University. The ICLCA aims to use this conference as an opportunity to deepen understanding of a decarbonised society and to promote local decarbonisation plans and their implementation.
One of the highlights of ICLCA 2023 will be the City Forum on 17 October, where decarbonisation initiatives from several Asian cities will be presented and discussed. The mayors of Okayama City and Maniwa City in Japan, and Kuala Lumpur, Penang Island and Kuching in Malaysia will present and discuss their initiatives.
This City Forum is an open event, with free admission and on-screen automated simultaneous translation between English and Japanese.
