This event examined the COVID-19 impact across Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the integrated, indivisible and interlinked nature of the goals. The pandemic has particularly emphasized the interlinkages (synergies and trade-offs) between various SDGs, particularly water (SDG 6), energy (SDG 7), industry (SDG 9), sustainable cities (SDG 11) and partnership (SDG 17). These SDGs are deeply interconnected with other SDGs. Through identifying strong synergies and trade-offers across goals and related targets, countries can design integrated, coherent policies and prioritize the allocation of scarce resources to build back from the pandemic while advancing the implementation of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The event investigated interlinkages at the thematic, regional and country level to discuss examples of possible applications, implications, and best practices.
