Mr. Naoki Amako joined IGES in 2022 and serves as the Head of IPBES Technical Support Unit for the Assessment of Invasive Alien Species. Prior to IGES, he worked at the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, having been engaged in nature conservation at the international level (e.g., Ramsar, CITES, ICRI, CBD, etc.), the national level and the local level (ranger at several national parks). He received a Master's degree in Resource Recreation and Tourism from the University of Idaho, USA, and a Bachelor's degree in Forest Science from Hokkaido University, Japan.
