COP26 Side Event

11 November 2021 24:00 - 25:30 (JST) / 15:00 - 16:30 (Local time)

The Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ) and the Asia-Pacific Integrated Model (AIM) project team provide technical support for developing long-term strategies in several countries in the Asian region. In addition, we support creating strategies for decarbonisation / carbon neutrality in some cities in this region and play an important role by helping these cities implement such strategies.

At this side event, the AIM project team will provide a brief overview of its collaborations across Asia over more than two decades. Then, the side event will illustrate some cases whereby modeling results have been applied in an effective manner to long-term strategies in countries in the Asia-Pacific region, such as Thailand and Indonesia. In addition, the side event will show some good practices in Asian cities aiming towards carbon neutrality, including Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
