The Global Compact Network Japan (GCNJ) and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) launched a report "SDGs and Business to Overcome the COVID-19 Pandemic: Actions by Companies and Organisations in Japan", showing the latest survey results on the actual status of Japanese companies' efforts regarding the SDGs.

This report, now in its fifth year, analyzes the degree of progress made over the past five years in terms of the level of awareness and the status of their efforts of the SDGs among GCNJ members, based on the results of a survey of 208 companies and organizations that responded to a questionnaire targeting GCNJ members and the results of interviews with top executives of companies and organizations.

The report discusses the changes in business and work styles that have been highlighted by the COVID-19, as well as the basic stance of companies and organizations in dealing with sustainability issues and their expected future initiatives. In addition, the appendix includes interviews with top executives of these companies and organizations, which can be used as a reference for SDGs initiatives and sustainability management in times of crisis.
