Review of SDG progress and measurement: Room for improvement?

This presentation shares work in progress on "spillovers" to table the important discussion that most countries that perform well on the SDGs do so because they have been able to displace negative environmental impacts of their progress to other less developed countries. In that sense, the good performance is based on an incomplete evaluation that does not account for the displacement of negative environmental and social vulnerabilities to other countries. There is a need to develop approaches that can capture and account for positive and negative impacts of development across countries in the future.
