令和3年度は、イギリスがG7議長国、イタリアがG20議長国となり、それぞれ環境大臣会合及びサミットが開催され、また環境大臣会合に先立ち準備会合が開催される予定である。

本業務では、「G7環境大臣会合準備会合(以下、「G7準備会合」という。)」及び「G20環境大臣準備会合(以下、「G20準備会合」という。)」に関して、会合の成果が環境政策の推進に資するよう、各準備会合の議事録、速報版、報告書の作成等を行い、また同準備会合等に関するサブスタンス支援を行った。
