REDD+

Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) has been implemented over the past decade, and has led to a restructuring of forest governance systems in host countries. In our presentation, we propose an approach to consider wellbeing of local communities who live closely to forests for climate change mitigation and adaptation. We discuss the approach by referring to an issue of energy scarcity in a community and REDD+ as a measure to address the issue.
