This Policy Report forms part of the output from the project: "‘Closing the Loop: Innovation and Scaling Up to Solve the Problem of Plastic Pollution in Marine Areas in ASEAN Cities", supported by  the Government of Japan. The report provides scientific-based evidence on the status of plastic pollution in Da Nang, in order to guide the development of a city-level action plan to manage marine plastic litter in Da Nang City by 2025, with a vision towards 2030. The report was jointly prepared by the United Nations Economic and Social Commissions for Asia Pacific (UN-ESCAP), Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), University of Leeds, International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), University of Da Nang, and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resource and Environment (DONRE), Da Nang City.
