The IGES Centre Collaborating with UNEP on Environmental Technologies (CCET) was founded in 2014 to assist national, regional and local governments with advancing low impact, environmentally responsible waste management systems, helping to direct a wider shift towards more resource efficient and sustainable societies. Together with United Nations Environment Programme, its International Environmental Technology Centre, and other key stakeholders, CCET supports partner governments with policy development, delivering institutional capacity and knowledge building, networking and outreach activities towards sustainable waste and resource management. Our projects focus on guiding the implementation of climate-smart and integrated waste management, in line with 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) principles: this extends both to the development of user-friendly knowledge products and the design of customised capacity development services.
