2nd Asia Pacific Water Summit
TECHNICAL SESSION IWRM 2: Groundwater in IWRM - options and lessons
IGES and the Department of Groundwater Resources, Thailand recently organised a technical session on groundwater during the Second Asia Pacific Water Forum (APWS) which was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The Second APWS had as its overarching theme "Water Security and Water-related Disaster Challenges: Leadership and Commitment". Technical workshops featured intensive discussions on specific water-related issues and challenges, and facilitated interaction among experts concerned with the science, policy and management of different water body types. Outcome recommendations of the session were forwarded to the Focus Area Session for further discussion.
