Over 1.0mSv/y Intensive Contamination Survey Areas (30 municipalities + part of 4 municipalities) Municipalities are responsible for achieving an exposure rate as low as 1mSv/y
Less than 1.0mSv/y Municipalities and local communities decontaminate hotspots
Current Status of Radiation Monitoring

On 19 September 2012, the Nuclear Regulation Authority (‘NRA’) of Japan took over the functions of compiling and publishing radiation monitoring data from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (‘MEXT’). The monitoring data compiled on or before 18 September 2012 can still be viewed on MEXT websites.
