Climate and Energy
The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) jointly organised a Joint Crediting Mechanism workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, in order to introduce updated information on international climate policies and the JCM toward further promoting low-carbon development in Thailand. An IGES researcher gave a presentation about the impact of the US decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. The researcher also explained the JCM project cycle and emphasised that JCM methodologies were designed to be simple in order to reduce the burden on project participants. About 60 participants from government and private sector joined this workshop and gained a better understanding on recent international climate policies, the JCM financing programme and applicability of JCM methodologies.
