A training session related to induction furnace technology was conducted in Japan from 25 to 29 March 2013
Five researchers from IGES’ research partner TERI visited Japan from 25 to 29 March, for a training session related to induction furnace technology. Discussions were held and agreements were achieved on future plans for implementing induction furnace pilot projects including capacity building, planning the schedule as well as preparation of a hands-on manual for joint use by IGES and TERI. In addition, TERI visited a foundry in Hyogo prefecture and exchanged views and opinions with IGES experts and researchers, not only on induction furnace technology but also on the overall ALCT project. The training session was a good opportunity for IGES to promote TERI's understanding about the casting industry in Japan as well as provide information about TQC and 5S (3S) activities.
