Field research was conducted in India from 24 April to 4 May 2011

There have been continued discussions relating to the candidate technologies of the pilot project with TERI up to now based on the basic research conducted in India last fiscal year.

In this field research, researchers were divided into two groups, research on the feasibility of the technologies which are considered effective in application (potential study) and background research concerning the social and economic situation which is considered necessary for potential study were conducted.

As for the potential study, experts visited several industrial clusters which were proposed for major candidate sites by TERI, the first round of feasibility research was conducted.

As a result, similar field research will be continued in the future aiming to identify the candidate technologies and candidate sites for pilot projects as the foothold for narrowing down the target technologies and sites has been established.
