2nd JITMAP Dialogue Meeting

The second Japan-India Technology Matchmaking Platform (JITMAP) Dialogue Meeting was held on 18 January 2018 at Bajaj Conference Room, at MCCIA Tower in Pune, Maharashtra. The event was jointly conducted by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), and supported by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ). This meeting was a great success and was attended by all JITMAP’s dialogue members from India namely: Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Gujarat Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation Limited (GITCO) and MCCIA. It was also attended by key financing organisations, namely Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), ESCO companies, and business representatives from India (Trinity) and Japan (Honda Motors, Bando Chemicals, Kobelco Air Compressors). The challenges and opportunities in energy efficient technology transfer were discussed during the meeting. The positive spirit during the dialogue meeting reinforced the IGES-KRC`s work and assured an optimistic way forward for low-carbon technologies. Feasibility studies were conducted back-to-back with the meeting on implementing Japanese technologies (compressed air system, efficient belts, etc.) at Amul Dairy in Anand, Gujarat, and Tata Auto Comp in Pune, Maharashtra.
