The Kansai Research Centre (KRC) of Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), India, have collaborated successfully to conduct a four year research project to promote the application of Japanese low-carbon technology in Indian small and medium enterprises (FY2010-FY2013). The project was supported under the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) scheme.
As a follow-up to the project in FY2014, IGES and TERI have engaged in various dissemination activities such as conducting feasibility studies at new sites, holding workshops/seminars for capacity building and awareness creation, and especially through direct interaction with relevant stakeholders to mobilise their engagement in the dissemination process. For instance, in March 2015, representatives from IGES and TERI interacted with representatives of Hyogo Prefecture local Government as well as with representatives of leading private company in Hyogo Prefecture to share the results and findings from previous activities conducted by IGES-TERI in India, as well as to discuss with the representatives about potential future cooperation activities.
