IGES and UNFCCC Secretariat Sign MOU on a Framework for Cooperation

The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES, Kanagawa, Japan, Chair, Board of Directors, Hironori Hamanaka) and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC, Bonn, Germany, Executive Secretary, Christiana Figueres) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on a framework for cooperation.

Under this framework, IGES and the UNFCCC Secretariat will jointly implement various cooperative activities including developing databases, conducting research, convening regional events and producing publications in order to address global climate change issues and to contribute the ultimate objective of the UNFCCC.
