IGES and CBD Secretariat agreed upon their collaboration to promote research on the Revised Biodiversity Strategic Plan for 2011-2020

On 29 October 2010, at the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP10) venue, Nagoya, Japan, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) as an international research institute and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD) signed the Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in promoting research and other activities on key biodiversity issues.

The research agenda under the MOU will include the Revised Biodiversity Strategic Plan for the period 2011-2020, biodiversity targets and indicators. Further details of any collaborative activity will be described in the Individual Agreement to be developed by the two organisations in future.
