Mr. Kiyoto Tanabe elected as Co-Chair for IPCC Task Force Bureau on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories

On 7 October 2015, at the 42nd Session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) held in Dubrovnik, Croatia from 5 to 8 October, Mr. Kiyoto Tanabe was elected as a Co-Chair for the Task Force Bureau on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories which is also a member of IPCC Bureau. Mr. Tanabe has been Head of the Technical Support Unit (TSU) for the IPCC Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (TFI), established within IGES. He is the successor to IGES counsellor, Mr. Taka Hiraishi who contributed to the IPCC as Co-Chair of the Task Force Bureau on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories for 16 years from 1999.

IPCC TFI Technical Support Unit (TSU)
Established within IGES in 1999, TSU supports the activities of IPCC Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (TFI). The TFI develops and promotes the IPCC guidelines and relevant tools for the estimation and reporting of national greenhouse gas emissions and removals.
