IGES, and the Ministry of the Environment, Japan organised the second workshop of "Asia Resource Circulation Policy Research" on 15-16 March 2010 in Tokyo, Japan

An outline and outcomes of the second workshop are as follows:
1) The progress and outcomes of joint researches as well as their future research plans were shared and confirmed.
2) Draft reports presented by collaborating researchers were reviewed and suggested improvements were discussed.
3) Draft message to be addressed to the Regional 3R Forum in Asia related to this year's theme “the multiple benefits of 3R implementation” was reviewed and discussed.
4) The progress of the environmental economy policy research was shared, and the mode of achieving synergy with the present research project was discussed.
5) The progress of ongoing pertinent efforts, for example the work of ERIA's 3R policy working group, was shared.
6) Other matters relating to the overall themes of the project were discussed.
A) Improvements in coordination and communication;
B) Publication plans;
C) Impact strategy; and
D) Other 3R challenges in Asia
