| About IGES White Paper |
IGES publishes its White Paper every two years, comprehensively compiling its strategic research results. The White Paper proposes innovative and strategic policies towards the implementation of sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region, from a variety of perspectives on environmental issues such as climate change, forest conservation, freshwater, sustainable consumption and production, business and education.
IGES First White Paper was based on awareness of urgent issues of long-term actions in the face of worsening environmental problems, and analysed various policy measures that are being implemented in Asia. It then offered cross-sectoral recommendations for environmental strategies that should be carried out in Asia in the future. The Second White Paper had climate change as its main theme, and considered the impact of climate change in Asia as well as the current policies. It gave a practical presentation of the mitigation and adaptation policies for climate change that met the needs of countries in the region.
