  1. IPCC TFI Technical Support Unit(TSU)  
    Established within IGES in 1999, TSU supports the activities of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (TFI). The TFI develops and promotes the IPCC guidelines and relevant tools for the estimation and reporting of national greenhouse gas emissions and removals.   2. Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research(APN)
    The APN is an inter-governmental network of countries(currently 22 member countries) whose mission is to foster global change research in the Asia-Pacific region, increase developing country participation in that research, and strengthen interactions between the scientific community and policy-makers. In order to optimise its work, the APN Secretariat came under the administrative umbrella of IGES in April 2004, although the APN’s Inter-Governmental Meeting(IGM) continues to be its policy and decision-making body.   3. Japanese Center for International Studies in Ecology(IGES-JISE)
    JISE carries out practical surveys and research to restore, regenerate and create ecosystems from regional to global levels to move towards the establishment of a sustainable society from the perspective of plant ecology. JISE also promotes training in environmental and ecological studies, and collects and disseminates related information. JISE was integrated into IGES in April 2007. JISE
  4. IPBES Technical Support Unit for the Asia-Pacific Regional Assessment (TSU-AP)
    IGES is taking on a supporting function and serving as the Technical Support Unit (TSU) for the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) for the production of the "Regional Assessment of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Asia-Pacific". The IPBES TSU-AP has been located within the IGES Tokyo Office since April 2015.
Centres in Collaboration with UN
 
  1. IGES Centre Collaborating with UNEP on Environmental Technologies
    This Centre provides support to the UNEP International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) and contributes to improving waste management in developing countries from the perspective of co-benefits between the climate issue and improved waste management. The Centre has been conducting operations within IGES Headquarters since March 2015.
  2. Regional Collaboration Centre for Asia-Pacific Region
    IGES and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) host the Regional Collaboration Centre (RCC) for Asia-Pacific Region, which provides a hub for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project opportunities in the region. The Centre was established in IGES Regional Centre in Bangkok in September 2015.
Networks and Partnerships

IGES is actively involved in many policy processes and initiatives, and contributes to policy formulation through information dissemination and policy recommendations based on research outcomes.
