REDD+ in Pacific Island Countries Partner Event for the Asia Pacific Forestry Week, 7-11 November, Beijing

| On 10 November, IGES co-hosted a partner event of Asia Pacific Forestry Week 2011 in Beijing entitled REDD+ in Pacific Island Countries. The other hosts were the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), the Secretariat for the Pacific Community (SPC), Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and UN-REDD. The partner event drew attention to the need for locally-grown REDD+ models that reflect the uniqueness of Pacific Island Countries, and for well-coordinated international support for REDD+ readiness. |
