| Workshop for CDM and Grid Emission Factors in Viet Nam |

The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change, Ministry of Natural Resource Management and Environment of Viet Nam (DMHCC, MONRE) jointly organised the gWorkshop for CDM and Grid Emission Factors in Viet Namh in Hanoi.
The purpose of this workshop was to introduce recent decisions and updates on the CDM rules and new market mechanisms and to discuss the lessons learned from the calculation of Grid Emission Factor (GEF) in Viet Nam.
In this workshop, the Ozone Layer Protection Center presented the past result of the GEF calculation and the data availability. IGES made a presentation on recent decisions by the CDM Executive Board including standardised baselines and the new standard for programme CDM as well as the new market mechanisms outline. IGES also explained GEF utilisation status in Viet Nam and introduced the IGES GEF calculation sheet which was developed to simplify its calculation. About 50 participants actively participated and discussed the findings and issues related to CDM and GEF.
