Korea-Japan Workshop on the GHGs Emission Trading Scheme
Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) held Korea-Japan workshop on the GHGs emission trading scheme with Japanese Ministry of the Environment, Korean Ministry of the Environment and Environmental Management Corporation, Korea in Seoul on 20 October, 2009. The workshop consisted of 3 sessions; 1) the emissions trading scheme framework of Korea and Japan; 2) policy direction and case study; and 3) the monitoring, report and verification (MRV) on greenhouse gas emission. Experts on emissions trading made presentations in each session followed by questions and answers. Many participants from the general public could be seen and they raised a lot of questions to the speakers, which represented high attention on emissions trading among Korean people.
