The Programmatic CDM (PoA) Workshop

The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) jointly organised a consultation meeting entitled “Practical Considerations to Facilitate CDM Programme of Activities (PoA) in the Philippines” on 9 November 2010. The main focus of this meeting was to provide information on the approval process of PoA and discuss issues regarding its further uptake. IGES gave presentations about the current international negotiations on the CDM; the procedural requirements for PoA approval especially focusing on the publication of a Letter of Approval (LoA); and a proposal for setting a standardised baseline. About 20 people mainly from members of the DNA (Designated National Authority) attended the meeting. Each presentation was followed by Q&A and detailed discussions.
