| Indonesia DNA Workshop |Experience, Lessons-Learned and Way Forward| |

 On 22 October 2009, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment Indonesia and Yayasan Bina Usaha Lingkugan (YBUL), held a workshop for designated national authority (DNA) members and the government officers. Following the opening remarks, Ministry of Environment Indonesia introduced project evaluation process and sustainable development criteria for the host country approval of projects applying for clean development mechanism (CDM), while summarizing several lessons learned from the experience of project evaluation. IGES introduced actual cases of monitoring sustainable development aspects of CDM project. It also presented a brief overview of the current status of the CDM being discussed in international negotiation. In this workshop, participants discussed the sustainable development criteria for further improvements and the future of CDM and market mechanism. |
