IGESWINROCKSmall Scale CDM Capacity Building Workshop

This workshop aimed at enhancing capacity of potential developers of small-scale CDM projects. About 40 participants attended the workshop from the following fields: manufacturing firms of energy efficient appliances, renewable energy firms, NGOs for rural development support, state pollution control board, etc.

WII explained the basic concept and procedures of the CDM followed by presentations by WII and IGES on each of three options - bundling, programme of activities, and Gold Standard - to reduce the transaction costs of small-scale projects or increase the profits from selling CDM credits. In the afternoon session, two case studies were presented by project developers on their potential small-scale CDM projects currently in the planning phase. Participants then discussed the obstacles in implementing those projects as the CDM and possible solutions to them.
