CDM Technical Seminar

Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and Sino-Japan Friendship Center for Environmental Protection (SEPA), located in Beijing, China, signed a Memorandum of the Understanding (MOU) for cooperative activities on the CDM on June, 2009.   For details>>

As one of the activities under this MOU, IGES held the CDM technical seminar for the staffs of Environmental Certification Center of SEPA. Environmental Certification Center of SEPA (CEC) is the Designated Operational Entity (DOE) which has been accredited as the first domestic DOE of China by the UNFCCC on March 2009. 14 staffs from CEC attended this seminar. In this seminar, IGES provided some basic information regarding CDM including the findings and analysis based on CDM data and gave a lecture about the methodology of CDM project activities. In addition, IGES and CEC discussed not only problems under the process of validation and verification, but also issues regarding CDM rules and procedures in this seminar.
