| Kampot CDM Seminar |
|
Institute for Global Environmental Strategy (IGES), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment (MoE) of Cambodia, organized a half day Provincial Seminar on the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in Kampot Province, Cambodia. A total of 33 participants from members of the two Technical Working Groups (TWG) of the Cambodian Designated Authority (DNA), officials from relevant Kampot provincial departments and selected project developers attended the workshop.
The objectives of the workshop were:
(1) to raise awareness on CDM among stakeholders at provincial level,
(2) to update on the current status of CDM implementation in Cambodia,
(3) to share CDM experiences among project developers, and
(4) to promote CDM project implementation in Cambodia.
The Cambodian DNA has approved 5 CDM projects. Two projects, which are located in Kampot Province, namely Kampot Cement Waste Heat Power Generation Project (KCC-WHG) and Kamchay Hydroelectric BOT Project were introduced by project developers.
