2 April 2012

The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), in accordance with the three laws related to public interest incorporated foundations which came into force on 1 December 2008, has continued with the process to make the transition to a public interest incorporated foundation, based on Article 34 of the Civil Code.

We can inform you that we received a recommendation from the Cabinet Office Committee for public interest corporation authorisation as well as authorisation from the Prime Minister, and we are therefore very pleased to announce that IGES made the transition to a public interest incorporated foundation on 1 April 2012. Accordingly, we can also announce that the new Directors, Auditors and Trustees have taken up their positions and are listed in the attached document .

As a public interest incorporated foundation, IGES will conduct practical, innovative and higher quality research, and based on our strategic research results, we will move ahead with highly reliable research activities and projects that better serve the public interest and meet expectations and requests. We sincerely hope that you will continue to extend your support and cooperation to IGES.
