IGES and the Mongolian Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism (MNET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate in establishing new market mechanisms in Mongolia

On 21 April 2011, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) as an international research institute and the Mongolian Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism (MNET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate in establishing new market mechanisms through the IGES New Market Mechanism Capacity Building Activity in Mongolia.

Under the MOU i) IGES will provide information related to new market mechanisms for MNET officials, and ii) IGES and MNET will hold consultation meetings with relevant stakeholders.

IGES has been implementing clean development mechanism (CDM) capacity building activities in several Asian countries (Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Lao PDR). From this year, IGES in close cooperation with MNET will launch new programme in 2011.
