The IGES strategic research projects under those areas are designed to
achieve practical results during each three-year research phase.
The “Integrative Strategic Research Programme of IGES for the Fifth
Phase,” which began in April 2010 and is due to be completed in March 2013,
covers diverse research areas listed below. The Programme Management Office
(PMO) plans and coordinates each strategic research theme from an
integrative point of view and implement IGES-wide activities as well as
cross-cutting issues, being actively involved in a number of political
initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region as well as worldwide.
